Since discovering how important iodine is in the diet, I have been curious about other benefits of seaweed. The Thyroid-Metabolism connection is also very interesting. It turns out that most seaweeds are very healthy for thyroid gland support, and a healthy thyroid gland will help to regulate temperature, plus make it easier to reach your weight loss goals.
I wanted to share this simple recipe that makes it super easy to incorporate more seaweed in your diet. It doesn’t take much seaweed to really boost your thyroid health.
1 cup basmati rice
10 small pieces of roasted nori sliced 1/2″ strips (or 4 hand roll size toasted nori)
1 Tbs naturally brewed soy sauce
1 Tbs rice vinegar
3 Tbs toasted sesame seeds
1 Tbs fish sauce (optional)
steam rice, and slice nori. Let rice rest for 10 minutes or so, then combine all ingredients and enjoy!
